Case study: Snakes and Ladders goes Fairtrade

Departments across the University joined to raise awareness of the social and environmental benefits of Fairtrade.

For Fairtrade Fortnight, the Institute of Education tasked their BA Primary School students with creating fun and innovative snakes and ladders games within their ‘Design and Technology’ lessons. As well as producing effective learning tools for primary school children, the BA Primary students learnt how sustainability and global citizenship issues can be incorporated and taught in primary school curriculum.

Other activities throughout the fortnight included a Fairtrade football match, ‘keepy uppy’ challenges, staff and student fun runs, and making a mile of chocolate handprints out of Fairtrade chocolate!
